The Soffer and Miller Golf Courses: Golfing Fit for Presidents and Kings

November 16, 2017

The most acclaimed golf architect of the 20th-century, Robert Trent Jones designed courses for King Hassan II of Morocco; America’s own unofficial royals, the Rockefeller family; and Dwight Eisenhower, who arguably loved the fairway more than any other U.S. President. Thus, when Donald Soffer set out in the 1960s to find a designer for two 18-hole courses in North Miami Beach, Jones was the natural choice. Today, those two courses, the Soffer and the Miller, located right here at Turnberry Isle Miami, are two of the most renowned in North America. In 2006, Turnberry Isle enlisted multi-year PGA Champion and international golfing idol Ray Floyd to reimagine the courses’ layouts. Thanks to his visionary efforts, which included substantial contouring and the addition of a top-notch drainage system, guests of Turnberry Isle can now enjoy an ideally streamlined and aesthetically pleasing golf experience. In addition, you’ll have access to an extensive pro shop, caddy service, premium Callaway rental clubs (or door-to-door transport for your own clubs, if you’d prefer), and, of course, the finest private golf instructors in South Florida.
